Fantastic beach just a short drive (approx 20 mins) from Newton Stewart. Mossyard is a working farm with a caravan site set right on the coast, not far from Gatehouse of Fleet.
Gatehouse of Fleet is a 25 minute drive from Otter Cottage. The main tourist attraction is The Mill on the Fleet which is an old 18th century cotton mill. The entrance is a cast iron archway next to the church, opposite the main visitors car park but you could be forgiven for missing this.
